A medical supply syringe is a medical instrument used to inject or withdraw fluids. It is device containing a small needle to inject medication or other liquids into the body tissues. It is not advisable to force the liquid or compressed air through the medical supply syringe if the needle becomes clogged. The excessive pressure applied will split the glass barrel. The plunger must be removed before cleaning the needle. Cleaning wires are used to extricate any foreign material or residue build-up. Deionized water or acetone may be used to thoroughly clean it.

Variations in liquid measurement due to the body heat may be avoided by the grip of only the medical supply syringe flange and plunger button. Pump the plunger with the medical supply syringe needle immersed in the fluid to be transferred. Through this step, any trapped air will be expelled in the needle and medical supply syringe.
