MEDICAL DIABETIC TEST STRIP SUPPLY
Diabetes
is a disease in which the body does not produce or properly use
insulin, a hormone which is needed to convert sugar, starches and other
foods into the energy needed for daily life. Diabetes is one of the
highly common and costly diseases nowadays, with approximately 6
percent of the population having the disease. Most of those who have
the disease are not aware they have diabetes. Many of them only become
aware that they have the disease when they develop other
life-threatening complications, such as blindness, kidney disease,
heart disease, stroke nerve disease or amputation. Because of its
nature, persons suspected to have diabetes should be tested. Home
testing kits are now available to monitor blood glucose levels. It
usually is in the form of medical diabetes test strip supply.
There is a 3 minute test that requires only a single
self-collected blood droplet to identify abnormally high fasting plasma
glucose (blood sugar) levels in the blood. Abnormally high glucose
levels are a warning sign of diabetes. This particular test was shown
in clinical trials to be 94 to 99.95 percent accurate in identifying
normal and abnormal fasting plasma glucose levels.
Aside from that, there is also another method wherein the urine,
instead of the blood, is tested for glucose. The principle behind the
test is that the glucose, the excess of which causes diabetes, reacts
with other chemicals. When this union of glucose and the other chemical
is tested using a test strip, the result would be colors ranging from
blue-green to greenish-brown through brown and dark brown. The colors
tell the percentage of glucose in the body.
